Bangladesh’s weather office said on Monday (October 20) that a low-pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours, with isolated thundershowers possible in Chattogram Division.
Meteorologist Khandaker Hafizur Rahman said the season’s normal low lies over the southern Bay, with an associated trough extending to the northern Bay.
A low may develop over the southeast Bay and adjoining areas in the next day and could intensify.
In the forecast valid until Tuesday (October 21) morning, the Met Office said one or two places in Chattogram Division may see rain or thundershowers. Elsewhere, skies will be partly cloudy and the weather mainly dry.
Daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged nationwide.
A similar outlook applies for the subsequent 24 hours from Tuesday morning, with brief rain or thundershowers possible in parts of Chattogram and generally dry conditions elsewhere.
