FARIDPUR: Opposition BNP is not participating in upcoming 10th national parliament election to foil the trials of war criminals.

The premier Sheikh Hasina categorically came up with the statement while she was addressing a public rally as chief guest at Balur Math in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur on Thursday.

She said that BNP can’t participate in polls without Jamaat-e-Islami. So BNP Chairperson is leading violence to avoid the trial of war criminals.

Sheikh Hasina also said that the country has been developed to the maximum level in the last five years in the period of Awami League government.

She further stated that the poor people are getting medical care and education at free of cost.

‘We have provided several scholarships across the country due to better education for poor and talent students,’ she added.

She is also on her maiden vote campaign at Bhanga upazila of the district seeking votes for party candidate in Faridpur-4 constituency for the 10th national parliament election.

The area got a festive look with banners, placards and festoons to welcome her.

Overseas Welfare Minister Engr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and other senior and local leaders of the party, among others, were present in the rally.
