The audition for the second season of “Quraner Noor”, a Koranic recitation contest, was held in Khulna division on Thursday (December 7).

A total of 10 contestants out of 350 from ten districts of Khulna division received tickets for the second round.

Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Musalli Committee is organising the mega event titled ‘Quraner Noor International Hifzul Quran Competition-2024’ which is powered by Bashundhara Group, the country’s leading business conglomerate.

Earlier in the morning, hundreds of contestants gathered at Talimul Millat Rahmatia Fazil Madrasah to register for the competition.

At first, they wore badges and completed the registration process one by one. After having breakfast, the contestants were divided into five categories for the audition round.

The national-level jury board, consisting of hafizes Mufti Mohiuddin Kasemi, Kari Nazmul Hasan and Kari Mustakim Billah conducted the audition.

Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Senior Imam Mizanur Rahman and Musalli Committee Joint Secretary General Shah Alam coordinated the audition round. Musalli Committee General Secretary Mizanur Rahman Manik was also present on the occasion.

The national-level champion will win Tk10 lakh while the international champion will get Tk15 lakh.

The recorded programme will be aired on News24 and its YouTube channel from the first day of holy month of Ramadan.
