A total of 263 arson attacks have been recorded till 6:00am today (December 8) during the blockades and hartals called by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its like-minded opposition parties since the October 28.

Fire Service Headquarters Media Cell Officer Anwarul Islam Dolan confirmed the matter on Friday (December 8).  

According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence Department, the burnt vehicles include 162 buses, 44 trucks, 23 covered vans, eight motorcycles and 26 other cars. 

The most recent 48-hour blockade, called protesting the unveiling of the polls scheduled by the Election Commission, end at 6am on Friday.
