Case against Khaleda dismissed

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Tuesday dismissed a case hours after it was filed against opposition BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia for her remark over Gopalganj district.

Metropolitan Magistrate Asaduzzaman Nur, after hearing on the case, passed the order in the afternoon.

Earlier in the day, President of ‘Bangladesh Jananetri Parishad’ AB Siddiqui filed the lawsuit against her with Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in the morning.

The lawsuit was filed on charge of defaming the dwellers of Gopalganj district, issuing threat and creating troubles in the country with the court of magistrate Asaduzzaman Nur.

On December 29, the BNP chief asked a police official about her residence and issued a threat to change the name of Gapalganj district.

AB Siddiqui demanded that as a dweller of the district he felt defamed.
