BNP MPs seek President’s appointment

DHAKA: Opposition BNP on Thursday sought appointment of President M Abdul Hamid to express their concern about ‘confinement’ of opposition leader of the parliament Khaleda Zia.

Opposition Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque came up with the disclosure in the morning while talking to reporters after the meeting with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chauwdhury.

He added: “We have sought the appointment to defense affairs secretary to the President.”

Earlier a delegation of BNP parliamentary party led-by opposition Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque met Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chauwdhury.

Farroque said: “During the meeting with the Speaker, we expressed our concern about the withdrawal of the protocol of BNP chairperson and sought her intervention to restore the facilities.”

Ashraf Uddin Nizan, Syeda Asifa Ashrafi Papia, Nilofar Chowdhury Moni, Rehana Aktar Ranu, Harunur Rashid, Nazimuddin Ahmed and Rasheda Begum Hira were present at the meeting.
