DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday exhorted the youth to uphold the honour of the national flag at any cost.

She also congratulated the Bangladesh Army for creating the world’s largest ‘human flag’ for Bangladesh – a feat recognized on Saturday by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Shiekh Hasina’s sentiments were shared with banglanews by Mahbubul Haque Shakil, Special Assistant to the Premier.

Sheikh Hasina added that along with upholding the honour of the national flag, the youth must build a prosperous Bangladesh, according to Shakil.

On December 16, 2013, some 27,117 volunteers with the help of Bangladesh Army and Robi Axiata Ltd, formed the largest human flag at the old airport’s parade ground.

On January 5 (Saturday), Guinness Book of World Records published the news on its website.
