DHAKA: At least 19 people including two Ansar members were killed in Chittagong, Jessore, Thakurgaon, Rangpur, Nilphamari, Feni, Munshiganj, Gaibandha, Dinajpur, Naogaon and Laxmipur in election violence Sunday.

CHITTAGONG: A Chhatra Shibir activist was shot dead in Bhobanipur area under Lohagora upazila of the district on Sunday afternoon.
Police sources said that law enforcers shot the Shibir activist while he was snatching a ballot box from a polling center and tried to flee the scene around 3:45pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
Jessore: A Jamaat man was killed in a clash with joint forces in MOnirampur of the district in the afternoon.
Thakurgaon: Three BNP activists were killed in a clash with law enforcers and Awami League activists in Sadar upazila of the district at in the afternoon.
Rangpur: Two Jamaat activists were killed as police opened fire while they were trying to loot a polling centre in Pirgachha of Rangpur early Sunday.
Nilphamari: A Jamaat activist among 2 was killed in police firing in Dimla and Jaldhaka upazila of Nilphamari early Sunday when they tried to loot ballot papers.
Feni: Two Jubo Dal activists were killed in a clash with Juba League men in Sonagazi of Feni at 10:30am.
Munshiganj: A Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal activist drowned in a pond in Tongibari Upazila as police chased him when he tried to blast cocktail in a polling center early Sunday.
Dinajpur: Three people, including an Ansar man and an activist of Juba Dal, were killed in clashes between law enforcers and poll resisters in the upazila of the district on Sunday.
Another 18-party activist was killed in a clash with Awami League in Birganj.
Laxmipur: A Jamaat man died in police firing when he went to attack a polling center in Ramganj of the district at 12:30pm Sunday.
NAOGAON: A Juba Dal activist was killed in a clash with joint forces personnel at Chalkdebiram village under Manda upazila of the district on Sunday afternoon.
Gaibandha: A Chhatra Shibir activist was killed in a clash with Awami League activists in Sundarganj upazila in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, Election Commission (EC) has postponed voting in 139 polling centers across the country as BNP-Jamaat activists’ attack destroyed election equipments.
Voting ended in the 10th national polls at 4:00pm Sunday amid a boycott by the BNP-led 18-party opposition alliance demanding elections under a caretaker government which Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina refused to concede.
