DHAKA: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed categorically said that fair voting was underway across the country.

He came up with the assertion while addressing a press briefing at his office on Sunday noon.

In reply to a question, Kazi Rakinuddin Ahmed said, “We are getting some news of causalities from various spots across country, where an Assistant Presiding Officer was killed by miscreants.”

He expressed hope that the scenario of voter turnout, as noticed poor in the morning, would change later in the day.

CEC also said that the vote counting will begin from 04:00pm in front of polling agents, journalists and visitors.
