DHAKA: New government consisting fifty ministers, state ministers, deputy-Ministers is set to be formed on Sunday. A number of newly elected lawmakers have already received phone calls to take oath as cabinet members.
Earlier on Thursday and Saturday, a total of 290 lawmakers were administered oaths for the 10th parliament in phases.
Amongst them 20 lawmakers confirmed banglanews till Saturday midnight that they received invitation to take oath as cabinet members.
Sheikh Hasina, president of Awami League, is going to be made new prime minister for third time.
Amongst the invitees, senior Awami League leaders are - Amir Hossain Amu, Tofael Ahmed and Mohammad Nasim, Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Motia Chowdhury, Obaidul Quader, Syed Ashraful Islam, Anwer Hossain Manju, Rashed Khan Menon, Nurul Islam Nahid.
The others are Hasnul Haque Inu, Shahariar Alam, Mojibul Haque Chunnu and Moshiur Rahman Ranga.
Anisul Islam Mahmud and Ziauddin Bablu may be take oath in the new cabinet.
Secretary and Awami League sources also said that Barrister Shafique Ahmed, Eng. Mossaraf Hoassain, Khandaker Mossaraf Hossain, Abdul Latif Siddiki, Shajan Khan, Advocate Kamrul Islam, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Abusyed Almahmud Shapan, Mirza Azam, Moffazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya may be made member of the cabinet.
However, Suranjit Sengupta, Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, Shamsul Haque Khan Tuku, Jahangir Kabir Nanaok, Dr Dipu Moni are yet to receive phone call from cabinet division.
Motia Chowdhury told banglanews that she got invitation from cabinet secretary to take oath.
Cabinet secretary M. Musharrof Hossain Bhuiyan said the President will administer the oath ceremony of the new cabinet at Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban, at around 3:00pm.
