DHAKA: US ambassador to Bangladesh Dan W Mozena on Sunday categorically said the recent parliamentary election in Bangladesh is not credible to people.

The US diplomat came up with the observation while talking to journalists after attending oath taking ceremony at Bangabhaban in the afternoon.

He said many a members of the parliament were elected without any contest and country’s main opposition party did not participate in the polls.

This election lacks credibility to people, the newsmen were told.

Expressing hope, he said a dialogue would be taken place in this regards and a fair and meaningful election would be arranged through the talks.
