COX’S BAZAR: Local administration evicted over 100 shanties and establishments from Tamarisk garden on the beach of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday.

Assistant Commissioner (land) of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Thana, Abu Hasan Siddique, led a three-hour eviction drive at 11:00am to free the area.

Abu Hasan told banglanews that a large number of people grabbed the area by building cottages for long.

However, the authorities concerned issued notice to shift from the place by Sunday.

As they didn’t pay attention on the legal notice, so the eviction drive was operated to move them away from the beach area, he added.
