Police arrested two people for their alleged involvement in rape and murder of a 3-year-old child in Gazipur.

The incident happened in Baimail Madhyapara area under Konabari Police Station of Gazipur City Corporation.

On Wednesday (June 5), members of police recovered the body of the child and sent to the morgue.

The arrestees are Nirab Hossain (19) and Sajedul (16), they live in Baimail area.

Ashraf Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gazipur Metropolitan's Konabari Police Station in this regard said on Tuesday evening father of the deceased registered a missing complaint after failed to find his child.

Later, Police arrested Nirab and Sajedul basis of suspicion. After that during interrogation both the arrestees confessed regarding their involvement in the murder, said the officer. 

The body has been sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem. Legal action in this regard is under process, he added.
