A court in Jamalpur on Sunday (June 9) sentenced four people to death for killing an easybike driver at districts Sarishabari upazila in 2016.

Muhammad Anowar Sadat, the judge of Jamalpur 2nd Additional Districts and Sessions Court, passed the order along with Tk 50,000 fine each.

The convicts are Md Moni Taheri, Md Rubel Mia, Md Jakir Hossain and Sohag. Of them, Sohag and Jakir are remain missing till now.

According to the prosecution, the convicts strangled to death the victim, an easybike driver Laiju Mia, after robing his vehicle in October 1 of 2016.

Later, the victim's father Amjad Hossain filed a murder a case with Sarishabari Police Station.

Following the case, police arrested Rubel Mia and Moni Tahir who gave confessional statement to a court under section 164.

After hearing 17 witnesses, the court awarded the four with death sentence on Sunday (May 9)
