A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a truck on the Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway in Saratoil area under Kalihati upazila of the district today.

The deceased was identified as Billal Hossain, 38, son of Anis Miah, a resident of Muslim Nagar area of Demra Police Station in Dhaka.

The accident occurred in the area when he was going to Dhaka from Pabna riding a motorcycle. On the way a truck hit the motorbike around 8am, leaving him dead on the spot, sub-inspector of Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station Yusuf Ali said.

Police recovered the body from the spot, he said.

Legal action is under process in this connection, SI added.
