Commander Arafat Islam, Director of Legal and Media Wing of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has said that the security system across the country has been boosted ahead of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha.
"Elite force of RAB is working to provide security and safety during the Eid journey of common people. Security has been strengthened especially in railway stations, bus terminals and ferry ghat, where people tend to gather mostly," he said while talking to journalists at city's Kamalapur railway station on Thursday (June 13) morning after inspecting the overall security measures.
"Our intelligence surveillance will continue against robbers and all kinds of thieving gangs, and black market gangs. Mobile patrolling and mobile tracking were introduced earlier. Various check posts, inspection posts, watch towers and support centers have been opened at different terminals and stations as per requirement,"
Urging the people of the country to abide by traffic rules and stay alert while traveling, the RAB official said, "Railway authorities are working to ensure that passengers are not harassed. They convey all kinds of complaints, especially women passengers' complaints to RAB."
