Members of Rapid Action Battalion-3 (RAB) in a drive arrested at least 12 people of train ticket black marketing gang.
RAB-3 arrested the alleged black marketers in connection to acquiring of around 500 train tickets for the next 10 days using National Identity Card (NID) of others’.
On Friday (June 14), in a press conference held at the Kamalapur railway station platform in the capital, RAB-3 CO Lt. Col. Md. Feroze Kabir disclosed the matter.
In the statement RAB officer Kabir said the arrestees used to acquire tickets using other people's NIDs and cell numbers with the intention of selling them at higher costs to general public.
“On tip-off, RAB-3 has arrested 12 people from two such gangs. There is also a sales representative for private trains at Kamalapur railway station. These black marketers have booked around 500 tickets for the next 10 days,” Feroze Kabir said.
Of the arrestees Sohail and Ariful used to operate black market from Thakurgaon and Dhaka, RAB officer said.
Feroz Kabir further said a team of RAB conducted the operation last night. In which 10 people were arrested from Dhaka and two others have been arrested from Thakurgaon.
