The district administration of Bandarban has taken possession of the land of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed.
Twenty-five acres of land purchased in the name of Benazir’s wife, daughter and himself in Suwalok Union of the district were seized on Thursday (July 4).
Deputy Commissioner Shah Mujahid Uddin confirmed the matter.
“A probe committee has been formed to investigate Benazir’s illegal plot of land in Bandarban. A receiver has also been appointed to look after the mortgaged land,” said Mujahid.
