4 killed in Gopalganj accident

Four people died and 21 others were injured after a Sakura Paribahan bus collided with a battery-run auto rickshaw in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj on Thursday (August 1).

The deceased identified as siblings Bashar Sheikh, 35, and Khair Sheikh, 30, of Bishwambhardi village in the upazila, Hasan Sheikh, 29, from the same village, and Iyar Ali, 38, from Dignagar village.

The accident happened in front of the Lam-Mim Hotel at Domrakandi in Faridpur on the Dhaka-Barishal Highway.

Officer-in-charge of Bhanga Highway Police Station (OC) Abu Saeed Md. Khairul Anam, confirmed the matter.

Police recovered the bodies and sent them to the Gopalganj morgue, while the injured was admitted to Rajoir Hospital for treatment.
