Two people were killed and seven others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a Mahendra on Dhaka-Barisal Highway today.

The deceased were identified as Masuma Akhter, 32, hailed from Islampur village and a minor child Azmain Mridha, 3. The injured people were admitted to Sher-e-Bangla Fazlul Haque Medical College.

Officer-in-Charge of Gournadi Thana Anowar Hossain confirmed the matter.

He said the accident occurred in Mahilara area on the Highway. Police seized the bus of Jamuna Paribahan from the spot.
