Two policemen accused of killing Abu Sayed, a student from Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur during the quota reform movement, have been placed on a four-day remand.

ASI Amir Hossain and Sujan Chandra Roy appeared before the Rangpur Metropolitan Administrative Court on Tuesday (September 10).

According to the plaintiff’s lawyer, the two officers allegedly shot Abu Sayed directly. After their arrest by the Metropolitan Police, the officers were handed over to the PBI for further investigation. The court approved the four-day remand request today.

Abu Saeed, an English Department student at Begum Rokeya University, was killed on 16 July during a student movement against discrimination. His brother, Ramzan Ali, filed a murder case on 19 August.

The case names former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, former DIG Abdul Baten, and 17 others, along with 30-35 unnamed individuals, as suspects.
