Three people were killed and one injured after a truck ran over them in Lohagara, Narsingdi, around Tuesday midnight.

The deceased were identified as Shamim Sheikh, 20, Zia Biswas, 45, and Rasel Molla, 19.

Tuhin Sheikh sustained critical injuries in the incident.

The accident occurred when four people were transporting a stretcher from the mosque to their residence to transfer the body of Rasel’s grandmother who passed away.

While crossing the Maita Kumra section of the Lohagara-Bhatiapara-Dhaka highway, a truck from Lohagara hit them, leaving three dead on the spot and one critically injured.

Tuhin Sheikh was first taken to Lohagara Upazila Health Complex for initial treatment and later shifted to Narail Sadar Hospital for further treatment.

Officer-in-Charge Abdullah Al Mamun of Lohagara police station said that the bodies would be returned to their families following the completion of necessary legal procedures.
