Bangladesh Bank hikes policy rate to 9.5%

The central bank hiked its repo rate by 50 basis points to 9.50% on Tuesday, marking the fourth hike in its policy rate this year in a bid to tame inflation.

A Bangladesh Bank (BB) circular said the new rate would be effective from Wednesday.
