The Coast Guard has arrested six robbers while preparing for robbery at the Bay of Bengal in Chattogram.

Two locally made fire arms, one round of bullet and knives were recovered from them, confirmed Lt. BN Md. Syam-ul-Haq, media officer of Bangladesh Coast Guard on Thursday.

He said the arrestees are active members of the notorious Rashed-Ghiyas gang.   The arrested are - Touhidul Islam Akash, 22, Md. Monir Uddin, 23, Md. Rubel, 32, Md. Faruk, 22, Md. Sohail, 25 and Md. Zahid, 25.

They all hailed from Gahira Dobashi Bazar area under Anwara Upazila of the district, according to Coast Guard sources.
