DHAKA: The government will look into whether BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and Haoa Bhaban were involved in the sensational 10-truck arms haul incident.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also ruling Awami League president, came up with the assertion while addressing the parliament on Tuesday.
She said, “We can’t allow smugglers to use our country and sovereignty for their own interest.”
Terming the sabotage activism was somehow ‘patronized’ by BNP-Jamaat alliance, she said, “They were carrying heavy armors through our territory during the BNP-Jamaat regime and Khaleda Zia kept silent on such a traumatized issue, she might forget her position!”
While talking on recent movement and violent attacks on the demonstrating students at Rajshahi University, she told the House: “Bangladesh Chhatra League was not involved in such a violent activism but Shibir can do it as everyone knows about their violent activism on the campus.”
She also stated that legal steps would be taken against those who were involved in the violent attacks on the students of Rajshahi University.
