Police have arrested 1,858 suspects across the country in a nationwide drive. Of them, 1,220 were detained in connection with cases and warrants, while 638 were held for other offences.

The operation also led to the recovery of a single-barrel gun, locally made LGs, cartridges and other items used in criminal activities.

The information was disclosed in a press release signed by AHM Shahadat Hossain, Assistant Inspector General (Media and PR) at Police Headquarters, on Wednesday (August 13).
