The government has put a hold on the sentence of journalist Shafik Rehman and US-based businessman Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan for one year, in an abduction and murder plotting case.

They were charged for conspiring to kidnap former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's son and IT advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy.

A notification was issued in this regard by the Security Services Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The notification was signed by the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Mohammad Abu Saeed Mollah.
