The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, to occur at various locations across the country over the next 72 hours, starting from 9 am this morning (Oct 19).
"Rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, are likely to occur in a few places over the Khulna, Barishal, and Sylhet divisions, and at one or two places in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Chattogram divisions," according to the latest BMD weather bulletin.
Daytime temperatures may rise slightly, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country, the bulletin added.
"A trough of low pressure lies over the North Bay, and a low-pressure area is likely to form over the central Bay of Bengal around October 22, 2024," it said.
According to the bulletin, the highest temperature in the country on Friday was recorded at 35.5°C in Feni, Chattogram division, while the lowest was 21.5°C in Dimla, Rangpur division.
The highest rainfall in the past 24 hours, up to 6 am today, was 115 millimeters (mm), recorded in Jashore, Khulna division.
The sun will set at 5:29 pm today and rise at 5:58 am tomorrow in the capital.
