SATKHIRA: A suspected carjacker was killed and another sustained bullets injuries in a clash with police in Chaltetola area of Sadar Upazila of the district early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Babu, 40, son of Khaibar Sardar.

Satkhira Sadar Thana Officer-in-Charge Enamul Haque told banglanews that a gang of carjacker snatched a private car away from wife of an army officer who is now in UN mission.

On information, police confirmed the location of carjackers using mobile tracking system and went to Chaltetola area to nab the carjackers around 2:30am which triggered a clash, leaving the man dead on the spot and another received bullet injury.

Meanwhile, blasting bombs other carjackers fled the scene and a police constable became injured with splinters.

The bullet injured Sahidul Islam was admitted to Sadar Hospital, the OC added.
