Bangladesh's inflation rate increased to 10.87% in October, up from 9.92% in September, with food inflation contributing significantly to the rise. 

According to the latest report by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), food inflation surged to 12.66% in October, compared to 10.40% the previous month.

BBS data shows that, non-food inflation saw a slight decrease, dropping to 9.34% in October from 9.50% in September.

Inflation in rural areas was higher than in urban regions. Rural inflation reached 11.26% in October, with food inflation hitting 12.75%, while in urban areas, overall inflation was 10.44% and food inflation was 12.53%.

Experts are urging the government to take immediate action to control inflation. They recommend increasing food stock, strengthening market management, and enhancing monitoring to bring inflation under control.
