The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (Nov 11) predicted rain in some areas of two coastal and port divisions, with mainly dry weather expected in the rest of the country over the next 24 hours starting this morning.
"Rain or thundershowers may occur at one or two locations in the Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions. Elsewhere in the country, the weather is expected to remain mostly dry with temporary partly cloudy skies," stated the forecast starting at 9 am.
A seasonal low is present over the South Bay, extending its influence towards the North Bay. A low-pressure area is expected to develop over the Southwest Bay and its surrounding regions within the next 36 hours. It is then likely to move slowly westwards toward the Tamil Nadu/Sri Lanka coast over the following two days.
The highest temperature recorded in the country on Sunday was 34.5 degrees Celsius in Feni, while the lowest temperature today was 17.7 degrees Celsius in Tetulia.
The maximum rainfall in the past 24 hours, until 6 am today, was 1 millimeter at Chattogram and Ambagan.
Night and day temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
In the capital, sunset will be at 5:14 pm today, and sunrise is expected at 6:12 am tomorrow.
