CHITTAGONG: A housewife allegedly committed suicide at Muslimabad Jail Para of Patenga Thana in the port city on Saturday late night.          

The deceased was identified as Mita Barua, 19, daughter of Kanun Basu, hailed from Chandina upazila of Comilla district.  

She used to live here in a rented house with her husband, said a spot account of the incident.             

Nazrul Islam, Sub-Inspector of Patenga Thana, informed banglanews that Mita allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with ceiling fan at bedroom over quarreling with her husband Sourav Barua.

Police recovered the body and sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue.
