A total of 1,07,29,155 SIM card holders left Dhaka between March 28 and April 3 to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with their families, according to official data.

During the same period, 44,40,279 SIM users returned to the capital, said Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser on Posts and Telecommunications, in a Facebook post citing BTRC statistics.

He said that around 1.7 crore mobile users left Dhaka for the Eid holidays, while 44 lakh returned.
