The government has appointed Riaz Hamidullah as Bangladesh’s new High Commissioner to India.
He left Dhaka for New Delhi on Sunday (April 6) to take up his new assignment.
Before this role, he served as Additional Foreign Secretary in charge of regional organizations and multilateral economic affairs.
A career diplomat, Hamidullah earlier served as Bangladesh’s Ambassador to the Netherlands and High Commissioner to Sri Lanka.
He replaces Mostafizur Rahman as the High Commissioner in New Delhi.
Hamidullah belongs to the 15th batch of the BCS Foreign Cadre. He has served as Director General in various wings of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He also worked in Bangladesh missions at the United Nations and in New Delhi in different capacities.
