Bangladesh has voiced strong condemnation against the ongoing military actions and widespread human rights violations committed by the Israeli Occupying Forces in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government called for an immediate halt to all Israeli military operations. It urged Israel to show maximum restraint and to comply with its responsibilities under international humanitarian law.
The statement denounced what it described as the indiscriminate bombing of heavily populated civilian areas in Gaza. Bangladesh accused Israel of targeting civilians with the intent of ethnic cleansing, particularly against the vulnerable and unarmed Palestinian population.
Following the unilateral breakdown of the ceasefire last month, Israel’s continued assaults have resulted in the deaths of numerous Palestinians—many of them women and children—and the blockade of humanitarian aid, deepening the already dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the statement added.
Bangladesh criticized Israel for ignoring repeated global calls to end the violence, stating that the attacks have intensified, worsening the humanitarian situation. The government urged the international community, especially the United Nations, to take immediate and meaningful action to enforce an unconditional ceasefire.
Calling for the protection of civilian lives and the free flow of humanitarian assistance into Gaza, Bangladesh reiterated its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. This includes backing the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Dhaka emphasized the need to return to diplomatic negotiations to ensure lasting peace in the Middle East, noting that regional and global stability depends on it. The government also appealed to all parties to choose diplomacy and constructive dialogue over violence, to bring an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Finally, Bangladesh reaffirmed its firm support for a two-state solution, in line with international law, UN resolutions, and the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people for peace, justice, and dignity.
