Police recovers dead body from Narayanganj field

Police recovered the body of an electrician named Abdur Rahim, 40, from a field in the Mijmiji Kaluhazi Road area of Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, on Friday (18 April) afternoon.

The body was sent to the Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Rahim was a resident of Sadeq’s house in Mijmiji Abdul Ali Pool area. He was the son of the late A Salam Talukdar. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.

Rahim’s elder brother Abdur Rob said Rahim had left home after Asr prayers on Thursday after having lunch, but never returned. “In the morning, we were informed that his body was found lying in a field. We believe someone killed him and left the body there.”

His wife Lipi Begum said her husband supported the family by doing electrical work. “Those who made my children orphans must be brought to justice,” she said.

Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Shahinur Alam said there were burn marks on the victim’s legs. “The body has been sent for autopsy. We will know the actual cause of death after the report. Legal action is underway,” he added.
