A Dhaka court today sent Milton Samadder, chairman of Child and Old Age Care, and his wife Mithu Halder to jail in connection with an attempt to murder case.

The couple surrendered before Metropolitan Magistrate Md Minhazur Rahman and sought bail, which the court rejected after a hearing.

Milton was earlier arrested on May 1 last year over allegations including making a false death certificate, torture, and human trafficking. 

Police filed multiple cases and took him on remand several times before he was released on bail.

The Detective Branch recently submitted a charge sheet against Milton and his wife, prompting the court to issue arrest warrants on May 6.
