Bangladesh has never discussed the proposed humanitarian corridor in Myanmar’s Rakhine region with any country or organization and has no intention of doing so, said National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman on Wednesday (May 21).
Speaking at a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy on Bailey Road, Dhaka, he dismissed speculations regarding Bangladesh's involvement in any corridor-related negotiations.
The briefing was convened amid growing discussions on the humanitarian situation in Rakhine, where thousands remain displaced due to ongoing conflicts.
Later in the afternoon, Faiz Ahmed, Assistant Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, reiterated Rahman’s remarks in a post on his verified Facebook account.
