The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has been identified as the most corrupt among public service institutions, according to the preliminary report of the 2025 Citizen Perception Survey (CPS).
The report was released on Thursday (June 19) by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), which conducted the nationwide survey in February 2025.
According to the survey, 31.67 percent of citizens who received public services in the past year reported being victims of bribery or corruption. Among them, 38.62 percent were men and 22.71 percent were women.
The institutions where citizens most frequently experienced bribery or corruption are BRTA (63.29 percent), law enforcement agencies (61.94 percent), passport offices (57.45 percent), and land registration offices (54.92 percent).
