The Advisory Council has approved in principle the draft of the Government Service (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2025.

The approval came during the council’s 32nd meeting held on Thursday (July 3), with Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus in the chair.

According to a press release issued by the Cabinet Division, the ordinance will now proceed to final approval following vetting by the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division.

However, the statement did not provide details on the specific amendments or changes proposed in the ordinance.

The Government Service (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, aims to bring updates to the existing framework for public sector employment. Further information is expected to be disclosed once the vetting process is complete.
