The government has approved the purchase of two bulk carrier vessels from the United States, each with a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 55,000 to 66,000. 

The acquisition will cost Tk 935 crore 71 lakh 56 thousand.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the Government Procurement Advisory Council Committee held on Tuesday (August 12) at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs conference room in the Secretariat. 

The meeting was chaired by Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed.
