DHAKA: Miscreants shot two businessmen and snatched away Tk 3.8 lakh at Pallabi in the city on Tuesday.

Witnesses said the incident took place in a broad daylight near Chalantika Club.

The injured are Shahidul Haque 52, Manager of Tisha Timber Traders, and Atiqur Rahman, 40.

They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with bullet injuries.

Shahidul said they had withdrawn Tk 11.7 lakh from Standard Chartered Bank at Pallabi at around 12:30pm and deposited Tk 7.9 lakh in another bank account.

Six snatchers riding on bikes obstructed them and asked for the money as they took a rickshaw on the Milk Vita Road. As Shahidullah and Atiqur tried to resist, the snatchers shot them.

Sub-Inspector of Pallabi Thana Mainul Kabir said, “We are investigating into the matter and trying to find out the involved criminals."
