RAJSHAHI: At least 25 people were injured in a clash between two rival groups at Gopail village in Mohanpur upazila on Friday morning over felling of a tree.

Witnesses said Md Asar and Dabir of Gopail village had been at loggerhead over the ownership of a piece of disputed land.

The clash ensued in the morning as Asar’s supporters intercepted Dabir’s men from felling a tree on the disputed land, leaving 25 people from both sides injured.

Among the injured, 14 people were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in “critical condition”.

Mohanpur thana OC M Ahsan Sarker told banglanews24.com.bd Asar and Dabir filed separate complaints with the thana.
