CDD Executive Director AHM Noman Khan gets Magsaysay award

Savar : Centre for Disability and Development (CDD) Executive Director AHM Noman Khan has own Magsaysay award for the year 2010.

Giving an instant reaction, Khan said, “I feel happy and honoured.” He also vowed to engage himself for the development of disabled people.   

Earlier, nine Bangladeshis, including Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus, Fazle Hasan Abed, Dr Jafrullah Chowdhury and Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed own the award.  

Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation (RMAF) of the Philippines gives the award in six categories every year.

Magsaysay Award, considered as Asia`s equivalent of Nobel Prize, was established in April 1957, by the trustees of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF) based in New York City.
