DHAKA: The government has taken a fresh initiative to trace out the NGOs financing the militants and ensure stern legal action against their patrons.

Besides, the government would bring out booklet under the Education Ministry to propagate against militancy.  

Home Ministry’s high-powered national committee against militancy took the decision at its meeting Tuesday at the Secretariat with State Minister for Home Affairs Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku in the chair.

The meeting has included the Health and Family Welfare and Social Welfare Ministries in the committee to boost field-level drive against the spread of messages by the militants.

Emerging from the meeting, State Minister Tuku said initiatives are on the cards to create mass awareness and public opinion against militancy through the root level workers of the Health Ministry.

Besides, Social Welfare Ministry will help find out the NGOs who might have had financed the militant networks.
