2 journalists face extortion case in Kushtia

KUSHTIA: An extortion case was filed against two journalists - Rashedul Islam Biplob, editor and publisher of the local newspaper “Arshinagar”, and Shamsul Alam Swapan, Kushtia Correspondent of the daily Amader Shomoy.
 
Khondakar Ariful Islam Ripon, a Kushtia Judge Court lawyer, filed the case with the session judge’s court.

Judge Abdullah Al Mamun accepted the case and ordered Sadar thana officer-in-charge to take legal action against the accused duo.
 
According to the case statement, Biplob and Swapan demanded one-lakh taka from the plaintiff -advocate Ripon--on July 26 and August 1 of this year.
