Man kills brother for land in Jhenidah

JHENIDAH:  A man was killed and three others were injured in a fratricidal feuding over land ownership at Varuapara village under Sader upazila Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Mannan alas Uzir, 30, son of Golap Rahman Joardar of Varuapara village.

Officer-in-charge of Jhenidah Sadar Thana Sagir Mia told banglanews24.com.bd that Mannan was beaten up by his brothers Raja and Liton with bamboo sticks following an altercation over land at around 11pm. “He died on the spot,” medical sources said, quoting family sources.

Mannan’s sibling Hafiz and Khairul and father Golap were seriously injured during their abortive effort to stop the feuding.

Raja and Liton fled after the fratricidal feuds were all over with the death of their brother.

The injured were admitted to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital. The body was sent to morgue. A case was filed with Jhenidah thana.
