DHAKA: Students of two departments of Dhaka University clashed with each other on the campus on Tuesday over football match leaving seven including three teachers injured, police said.

Shahbagh police and university sources said the clash ensued between the students of Department of Islamic History and Department of Pali over playing inter-university football semifinal.

Islamic History clinched the match by 3-0 defeating the Pali.  

The injured teachers are Shiddiqur Rahman and Iftekhar Hossain of Department of Islamic History and Biman Barua of Department of Pali.

The other injured are Sahadat Hossain, Abdullah Al Mamun and Liton- all students of Islamic History Department and a staff of the university.

They were rushed to University Medical Centre.

Later, police took the situation under control.
