AIGP asks to open CID forensic lab in Ctg by October

CHITTAGONG: Additional Inspector General of Police Naba Bikram Kishore Tripura Tuesday asked the officials concerned to take necessary steps to open the forensic lab of the CID in the port city by October.

The AIGP gave the directives while visiting the works of under construction forensic building of the CID Tuesday.

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is funding the Tk 20 crore scheme being implemented under the Police Reform Programme.

“Upon completion of the lab, investigation of many cases will be eased,” said ASP Mohammad Sarwar of CID.

The construction of the lab started in 2009. Meanwhile logistics have already reached form abroad including modern criminal detecting vehicles, micro analysis, foot print, finger print, photography, hand writing, ballistic analysis and chemical analysis machines.

Recruitment of technicians and training of CID officials has already been completed.
