DHAKA: Jumaa`tul Wida, the last Friday congregation in the holy month of Ramadan, was observed across the country with religious fervour.

Devotees pouerd into mosques, offered weekly Jumaa and special prayers seeking divine blessings for peace and prosperity of the country and unity of the Muslim Ummah.

As Jumaa`tul Wida was held on the last day of Ramadan and a good number of city-dwellers left the capital to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with near and dear ones, major city mosques got much pressure of devotees.

The largest `Jumaa`tul Wida` congregation was held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital. Devotees took part in the congregation and sought blessings of Allah.

Khateebs and Ulema delivered special sermons on the occasion and called for greater unity among the world Muslims to face the present-day challenges.

Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims, will be celebrated Saturday in the country after full 30 days` fasting as the Shawal moon was not sighted anywhere in the country on Thursday evening.
